Although U.S. spends a high portion of its GDP on health care than any other country, it ranked last in a poll conducted by the Commonwealth Fund at 2014. This survey assessed that the healthcare systems of the United Kingdom, United States of America, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, France, and Canada.
A healthcare system is a system of associations, individuals, and tools required in the delivery of healthcare services within a geographical area. Thus, hospitals, clinics, community health centres, pharmaceutical organizations, providers of medical health insurance, and Ministries of healthcare organizations coping with management and financing of resources, etc., are all a part of the health system.

As stated by the World Health Organization, a health system contains all associations, people, and activities whose primary objective would be to promote, restore, or maintain health.
